Removing Base Cabinets

Today’s “workout” was a tad unconventional.  We completed the removal of all the base cabinets in our kitchen and then hauled most of them down to the basement.  The island was topped by granite floor tiles and sided with oak flooring, making demo a bit more tedious (we tried to save the base cabinets as much as was possible to repurpose for storage elsewhere.  A couple of them weren’t worth saving, so we demo’d them in place (to later use as fuel on the fire pit.

Several hours of hammering, prying, jig saw, carrying and dragging.  My body is stiff and my arms/shoulders are sore.

Perhaps tomorrow we’ll tear up the floor tiles. LOL

The cabinets that weren’t worth saving still went to good use!
